How can I best use my branding photos in my business? This is a common question I get from my clients after their branding sessions with me.
Your business branding photos are so important – I don’t want them to stay in a folder on your desktop and “collect dust” or in a photo gallery, never to be used to their fullest capacity.
As a brand photographer, I know how powerful and transformative branding photos can be for your business. So, I’m sharing with you just a few of the ways you can use business branding photography to showcase your business in the best light possible and maintain a consistent aesthetic across all areas of your business.
Now that you have your business branding photos, one of the first places I want you to use them is on your website. This will not only help you create a more professional look and stand out in the online space, but it will also mean that you no longer need to use average-looking, generic stock photos.
One of the first places that a new prospective client is most likely to interact with you is your website. Their experience on your website will be a big factor in whether they become a client or not.
Adding your business branding photos lets you easily enhance your website’s quality and user experience.
Putting them on your website will also help you build trust and confidence, have a stronger visual appeal, and build a connection. When someone is on your website, you only have a short amount of time to make an impression, and you want to make the best impression possible. This is where your brand photography helps you stand out.
This might seem obvious, but you should absolutely use your business branding photos on social media. Not only is it great to have professional photos, but your branding photos are high-quality marketing assets that will help you create a cohesive image.
Just like using them on your website, sharing your branding photos on your social media helps build confidence and trust in your business.
Also, using your branding photos on social media gives you more creative options for your content creation. For example, if you also get videography in your branding session, you can use those as reel backgrounds, story backgrounds, etc.
Think of it this way: say you were going to buy a product from a new brand that you had heard about from someone you trust and whose opinion you value.
You head to this brand’s social media and see photos where each time they posted, the theme was drastically different depending on the content. The colors weren’t cohesive, the images were a bit blurry, and the lighting was bad. Would you actually want to buy the product?
Now, on the other hand, imagine a product page with a cohesive theme, images, and a clear brand story and vision. You would likely be much more likely to purchase the product with a better brand appearance regardless of how much the person you had spoken with insisted on how great the other product was.
The bottom line: Your social media is telling prospective clients a story, so you want to make sure it’s one you want to share. Remember, in this day and age, photos are one of the quickest ways to connect and resonate with your ideal clients. Your ideal clients need to see YOU.
If you are doing anything with print marketing, make sure that you’re using your branding photos. If someone sees your print marketing (flyers, promotional material, etc.) and then goes to your social media or website, you want to make sure that your brand looks the same across all your marketing materials.
Using your branding photos for print marketing is also great because you’ll no longer have to use stock photos. It’s easy to tell the difference between stock photos and professional, high-quality branding photos.
It looks so much better for your business to showcase your high-quality branding photos that you invested in compared to your competition, who might still be using generic, stock photos.
Remember, your prospective clients are all asking themselves why they should invest in you.
Having branding photos shows that you care about your business and quality, which in turn makes a good argument that you also care about and value the services you provide. This leads prospective clients to trust you more easily and reassures them that you can provide them with what they are looking for.
You can use your branding photos for digital marketing, like commercials and social media ads, or if you sponsor local events, you could use them for banners or flyers.
Establishing your brand reputation and image is incredibly important for your business’s success. It’s much better to use professional photos than any stock images you can find online for advertisements.
Stock images aren’t authentic, they are out of touch, and they don’t send the right message. Plus, they definitely aren’t communicating your brand voice or your brand message.
You can also use your branding photos for press features in local news or magazines. Again, this will help make your business appear professional and stay cohesive with your visual brand identity across different platforms.
I hope this helps you see the many different ways you can use your business branding photography. Your branding photos are here to help you stand out from everyone else who is doing the same thing, so it’s best to use them in as many ways as possible.
