Hello & welcome

Should you invest in professional branding photos and videos? Making any investment in your business is always a big deal – and let’s be honest some investments simply aren’t worth it.

However, as a brand photographer, I’m going to tell you that professional branding photos and videos matter now, more than ever, to help set your business apart from a sea of competitors in a noisy market.

Your future clients need to see your face online and know they can trust you – all of this starts with professional branding photos and videos.

Let’s dive into more about why professional branding photos and videos are non-negotiables for your business.

Why Professional Branding Photos and Videos Are Non-Negotiables for Your Business

Your brand photos and videos are an incredibly valuable asset to your business. They can truly make all the difference in helping you build trust and credibility with your audience.

Also, they show off what makes your business unique, whether that’s your personality, your team, your products, your space, etc. Your business deserves to shine in the spotlight – not blend into the background – and that’s exactly the role your brand photos and videos play.

You might think high-quality photos are enough to call attention to your business, but with the continually growing popularity of video content on social media, it’s important to have branded photos and branded videos. The goal of branding videos is not only to have videos that look good but also to hold the viewer’s attention and lead them to take action.

How Your Professional Branding Photos Help You

The bottom line is – your professional branding photos and videos work together to make you look more professional and to help you stand out. Let’s put an example – say that right now you are only using stock images and videos on social media and your website. On the other hand, one of your top competitors is using professional branding photos and videos. Maybe they even have high-quality b-roll content they are using. Furthermore, they also have an easily recognizable brand.

As a new lead scrolls through your website and theirs, which one would you assume they would pick to work with? The answer is quite clear.

If you want to do things differently and not appear like everyone else, you need professional branding photos and videos. They are fundamental tools for building brand recognition and clearly conveying what makes you and your business unique.

Furthermore, you shouldn’t just be using your branding photos and video on social media – you can use them on your website, social media, ad campaigns, print marketing, etc. All of this helps to make your brand more recognizable and creates a cohesive brand experience – which is definitely something you want to be happening!

How to Get High Quality Photos and Videos

The first step to getting the best high-quality photos and videos is to work with a professional photographer who knows the ins and outs of taking and editing photos—I promise that I’m not just telling you this as a photographer myself. The truth is, if you work with a professional, you will be saving yourself so much time and effort in the long run. Overall, it’s simply going to make your life much easier.

Also, working with a professional photographer ensures that you are working with an expert who has the skills, knowledge, and experience to capture high quality photos and videos that perfectly align with the goals of your brand and to match your brand vision.

Working with a professional photographer is a worthwhile investment that will help build your business long-term. My goal with your branding photos and videos is to help you draw in new dream clients. The magic happens by creating stunning visual elements that demonstrate who you are, what you do, and what makes your business exceptional.

How to know if you’re ready to invest in professional photography and videography services

So how do you know you’re ready to invest in professional photography and videography services? You can ask yourself these questions to help you decide:

  • Do you want to show up better online and increase your audience engagement?
  • Do you want to establish your credibility and show your audience exactly who you are and what your offer?
  • Do you feel that you currently aren’t serving your ideal clients?
  • Do you feel like right now in your business you’re not seeing a ton of traction?
  • Are you serious about your business and you want to see it succeed?
  • Do you want to stop struggling to show up online?

If you said “yes” to any of the above then you’re ready to invest in professional branding photography and videography!

DIY Your Photos and Videos

If you are just starting out in your business or you are still trying to figure out your brand vision and messaging, you might not be ready to invest in branding photography and videography—and that’s totally okay, too!

A branding photographer is the perfect investment when your business starts gaining more momentum and is growing! However, you can still DIY your photos and videos and still obtain great results.

Here are my top tips on taking your own photos and videos:

Find good light to work with

Good lighting is everything—you can even use artificial light if you need to. However, I recommend using natural light as much as possible. For example, try taking photos next to a large window!

Clean off your phone/camera lens

Before shooting, always, always, always clean off your phone/camera lens before you start shooting. Trust me, this makes a huge difference in how your final photos and videos turn out.

Set up a specific space that you can use on repeat

Create your own “studio” space –  this can be as simple as a corner in your house, store, or office that you can use. Or you can also choose to rent out a studio space! You may even be able to use rental homes like Airbnb with unique vibes (but always make sure you have permission to use the house in that way before taking your photos).
