Branding videography is a highly effective marketing tool that you can use to help increase your brand awareness, establish your brand’s credibility, and attract new clients. The great news is that there are so many different and unique ways to use your brand videos to create a lasting impression on your audience and make your brand stand out. 

As a brand photographer, I use branding videography to increase engagement, create a cohesive brand story, and showcase my business’s personality and style. I love that these videos are so versatile and that there are lots of ways to repurpose them. 

So, let’s jump into more about what branding videography is, why it’s important, and how you can use it to your advantage to help your brand and your business. 

What is Branding Videography? 

Branding videos are high-quality videos that promote your business or products. They can be videos of you working, branded B-roll videos, or, if you sell a product, of your product in action. 

Having brand videos is like having your own collection of beautiful stock videos in your back pocket that you can easily access and use. 

With these videos, you no longer have to feel constantly frustrated trying to film yourself typing at your laptop, only to rewatch the footage and realize you’ve cut off half of your laptop or needed 10 attempts to finally get it right. 

No more struggling to capture an aesthetic shot of yourself sipping coffee in a coffee shop, only for the angle to be wrong or your phone to keep falling face down on the table. You also won’t have to rely anymore on your phone’s front camera and deal with reduced video quality. 

Why is it Important? 

With branding videos, the days of using generic stock videos are gone. I’m sure you’ve seen the stock videos on Canva or “aesthetic” stock videos that you can purchase, but guess what? Your competition is using those videos, too. 

So how are you really separating yourself from your competition and helping your brand stand out if your content looks like everyone else’s? 

Also, with branding videos, you are going to create a more branded and cohesive experience and a compelling brand narrative. 

If a potential client sees all of your beautiful branding photos on your social media but then watches your reels or stories and sees blurry or grainy videos or videos that look completely different from your branding photos, this is not only confusing but also doesn’t help establish trust or credibility in your business. 

Also, random or stock videos simply don’t look professional. They don’t present your brand in the best light and don’t create a strong, positive first impression. 

Video platforms like TikTok and Instagram are continuing to grow in popularity. On average, you only have 2-3 seconds to capture the attention of a potential client who is scrolling, which is why fun, beautiful, branded videos can help you more easily capture their attention. They are more engaging and memorable than a low-quality video. 

Your branding videos can also make your content much more dynamic and interesting with movement. The goal of branding videos is not only to have videos that look good but also to hold the viewer’s attention and lead them to take action. 

How You Can Use Branding Videography  

Branding videos are so versatile you can use them on your social media feeds, on your stories, as reel backgrounds, for ads, on your website, etc. 

With these videos, your social media content and website will have a clear message, your content will be more engaging, and you will resonate more with potential clients. Also, when you add video to your website, you will make it much more compelling, and video will help draw attention to certain parts of your website that you want to highlight. 

These videos are going to help up your social media/website game because they give you a chance to feature unique things about your business in a different way and really allow you to show more of your personality and what makes you YOU. 

Branding videos will give your business an edge, especially if you want to make some noise and stand out from your competitors. Also, imagine what a relief it will be when you no longer have to worry about videos shot in bad lighting, spending hours and hours editing content, or having poorly framed videos. 

Tips for Your Branding Videos 

  • Pay attention to colors and style in your videos to keep your branding consistent. You want your videos to look like your brand. 
  • Make sure you are telling your brand’s story through your videos 
  • When you’re editing your videos and getting them ready to publish, make sure that you are using similar fonts across your videos if you’re planning to add any text overlay 
  • Don’t make super long videos. You want to create engaging short-form content, not long-form content.  
  • Make sure you have good lighting during filming 
  • Make sure your visuals are eye-catching and appealing 
  • Add in your logo if you can, but make sure that you don’t make it too big or too distracting
