Personal portraits

After 10 years of visual storytelling for brands, I've realized the "why" behind most of my clients' brand stories is their family.

Every family has its own definition, its own dynamics, its own evolution, and I'm here to help you hold onto a visual reminder of where you are right now.

Life is too short to wait until things feel perfectly aligned. My job is to make this easy, gentle, and genuinely fun for everyone in front of the camera.

See this season clearly. Hold onto it, and keep moving forward.

FAQ

How much do family portraits cost in Lemont, IL?

In-studio sessions start at $500 for the session fee, with image packages beginning at $1,000 total. On-location and lifestyle sessions start at $1,500 and include 10 images. Fully custom sessions (multigenerational, albums, multiple locations) are quoted individually based on what you need.

Do you offer family, teen, senior, and maternity sessions?

Yes, all four. Family sessions, teen portraits, high school senior sessions, and maternity sessions can all be booked as In-Studio or Lifestyle/On-Location, whichever fits the feel you're going for. Every family is at a different moment and each member is also evolving. I love working with growing families. Moms who never had a moment to pause and take that they are growing a human. Teens who go through to many changes or even hard times, and high school seniors who are in their own becoming. Each moment is meant to be witnessed and celebrated.

What makes a teen portrait session different from a family session?

I approach Teen and High School Senior sessions similar to personal branding. These sessions are built around the teen, not around posing for parents. We talk through what feels like them, location, styling, even music during the shoot, so the images reflect who they actually are right now, not just a version their parents picked. Being a teen is hard, and can be really stressful, images captured in these moments can be a helpful reminder of a moment they felt seen and more confident in themeselves.

What's included in a senior session?

A High School Senior session deserves to have it's own moment. We are honoring who they have been and who they are about to step into. It's been seen as a right of passage. In-studio sessions are for a few portraits, a couple outfit changes, including cap and gown. Lifestyle/outdoor sessions can be a combo of in-studio and around town or at your favorite park or school. Custom sessions will be just that. We can head to the city, plan multiple locations, even add your besties, all planned for a keepsake album and/or wall art for your home. For each session, I do suggest we take a few moments to capture you with your family. It may be the last chance for everyone to be together a few years.

Why should I book you instead of another photographer?

After 10 years photographing brands and the people behind them, I've learned that the best portraits don't come from perfect posing, they come from people feeling comfortable enough to just be themselves. I believe in the candid, in-between moments over anything staged or forced. These photos don't have to look perfect they have to look real. Mom and dad don't need to worry about a kid "smiling wrong" or acting out; I want your family's quirky, genuine selves, not a scolded version of them trying to hold still. You're not just getting images , you're getting an honest visual record of this exact season of your life, and sometimes those include beautiful chaos that will soon be cherished. My private studio is also a safe space for everyone to relax and not worry about weather, squinty eyes or hair being blow about, but we can certainly brave the outdoors if you choose the lifestyle/custom options.

Will my session feel rushed?

No. Headshot sessions can move quickly because they only need a photo or two, but family and teen sessions are different, people need time to relax, settle in, and stop performing for the camera. I build that time into every session rather than rushing toward a shot list. Some of the best moments happen after everyone's stopped trying so hard.

What if my kids don't cooperate or someone gets upset?

That's normal, and it won't ruin your session. My approach is patient, not pressured, nobody gets scolded into a "good" smile on my watch. That said, if tensions are running high enough that continuing wouldn't be good for your family, I reserve the right to pause or end a session early. It's rare, but it matters to me that this stays a genuinely positive experience, not something anyone dreads.

What should we wear for our session?

Once we book, you'll get a full prep guide with outfit guidance for the whole family. For teens, HS Seniors, maternity and custom shoots, a guide will be provided after our planning call. As a general rule: coordinate, don't match, pick a color palette rather than identical outfits, and choose textures and layers that photograph well together. I also reccomend that mom chooses her outfit first then coordinate the family around that.

How long does a session take?

In-studio sessions typically run 45-60 minutes. Custom, lifestyle and on-location sessions run about 1-2 hours to account for set up, outfit changes, possible travel between spots and settling everyone in. Again, my goal is to take the time that is appropriate for your family.

Do you travel outside Lemont for on-location sessions?

Yes. Lifestyle, on-location and custom sessions can happen anywhere that feels right for your family, a favorite park, your backyard, or the historic streets and canals right here in downtown Lemont. If your sessions requires travel outside the surrounding areas, to Chicago or beyond, there may be an additional travel fee/parking fees added to your session. Also, be aware, some locations require a permit to photograph professionally and there is a cost to consider.

Can we include grandparents or extended family?

Absolutely. Multigenerational sessions are one of the most meaningful things I photograph, if you're looking to include extended family, the Fully Custom option is usually the best fit so we can plan for timing, group logistics, and location.

When will we receive our images?

For in-studio sessions, final images are chosen and paid for that day. Those images will be delivered via a private online gallery within 5 business days. From there you can directly download, and/or order various prints through the app. For on-location/lifestyle/custom sessions, a private gallery of proofed(unedited images) will be available for viewing within 3 business days. Once final images are chosen and paid for, edits will be delivered via the same link within 5 business days. Albums typically take 6-8 weeks for delivery. Rush orders are available for an additional fee.

What do you do to my images when editing, and can I order prints?

Every final purchased digital file comes fully edited. My editing style is clean and realistic: I adjust light, color, and skin tone so the image looks like you, just polished, no heavy filters, no weird color casts, nothing that looks over-edited. Your approval is required prior to downloading.

I do not manipulate bodies, remove natural aging or freckles.
I do correct skin, blemishes, acne and if requested, scars/moles.

Once your gallery is ready, you can order prints directly through it, shipped right to your door. These are professional print labs, so the colors and quality match your digital files more accurately. If you'd rather print on your own, you're welcome to do that too, just know that big box stores (like Walgreens or CVS) often auto-adjust exposure and white balance, so your prints may not match what you see in your gallery. Ordering through your gallery has a better chance of what you see is what you get.

How far in advance should we book?

Flexible date(weekday and week night) In-studio sessions are easier to accommodate. We can typically can book within 5-10 days. For lifestyle, outdoor and custom sessions I recommend booking 2-6 weeks ahead, one, so we can plan your session and, two fall and holiday sessions fill up quickly. There are very, very limited options for weekend sessions. As of August, 2026, there are only 8 Saturday sessions available for the year. Weather has been a huge factor and disapointment for outdoor sessions, I am prioritizing in-studio sessions.

We look forward to working with you and your family.
